"Semur-en-Axois is so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes when I first arrived and tears to my eyes when I left. I didn’t want to leave. The process of getting there by train was seamless and easy. Thank you so much for letting me stay in your house. It was warm and charming. I also enjoyed the vineyard and the view was awesome."

"We enjoyed our stay at Pont Pinard Cottage tremendously, a true home away from home - charming and cozy. Semur is fairy tale village with it's towers, church bells ringing, and cobblestone roads - full of welcoming people. We gained confidence speaking French by greeting people on our daily walks to the Boulangerie and cafe. Semur was a central homebase for day trips and wine touring to Burgundy Valley. In all, what a memorable 40th birthday."

"My son brought me to your house for my first trip to Europe AND to celebrate my recovery from knee surgery. After several hectic days in Paris, he whisked me away on the fast train to Semur for peace, quiet, and an authentic French cultural experience.
What a delightful, restful place! The house was very comfortable -the stairs to the second floor very manageable. I love to cook and enjoyed the beautiful full copper kitchen. We made apple tarts and grape jelly from the garden and met lovely, friendly Semurois in town when we visited the cafes and restaurants.
The culture and living history were amazing to me. The churches, the statues, the ancient celtic sites… I have never before been in a place where I could see monuments built before the birth of Christ. It was s a trip to get to Alesia and lots of celtic history. The abbey at Fontenay was gorgeous and amazing. Semur is so beautiful and so convenient to so many rich historical monuments I wanted to see.
I was afraid that the stairs into town would be too much for a woman in her eighties. They were a cinch. I will treasure my memories of the trip for as long as I live."
"Everything is as it ought to be in this sweet, well appointed cottage. Although small, the owners have maximized the use of space and the house is better appointed and more functional than many larger vacation rental properties we have stayed in. A great deal of thought has clearly gone into the little details that make a place homely and comfortable. The house was quiet and cozy at night. Our three small children loved playing in the adjacent vineyard garden while we soaked up the sun over brunch, and we all enjoyed our expeditions up to the village shops. Semur is a lovely town with a wide range of facilities, and very well located for day trips around Burgundy."
"We have visited Semur-en-Auxois a number of times on day trips over the past 12 years. In 2012 we wanted to find a cottage so we could stay for a week. We chose this property for its close location to Pont Pinard and the amazing views of the town in this area. We are a family 3 adults and 1 young child and were very satisfied - from the location to comfort and the range of facilities available. The charming adjacent orchard and vineyard were a bonus and a great place to enjoy leisurely time outdoors in a private setting. Just a short walk over Pont Pinard to the steps leading to the upper town. We would happily stay here again. Semur-en-Auxois is still one of our favorite towns in France."
"This is very nice accommodation and it exceeded our expectations. We had a fabulous week exploring, cooking, eating out and relaxing by the river bank next to the accommodation with the ducks each sundown, sharing our bread and cheese. There is nothing the accommodation lacked and all things it supported, were well supported. Local information, radio and TV, well utensiled kitchen, bath, laundry, garage - everything was fabulous. The neighbours are nice. Locally there are many restaurants to choose from and the small walk to and from the restaurants is just adequate to walk off dinner each night. You need a car in Burgundy as there is so much to do. There are just so many activities to balance out a relaxing visit. Cycle the canals, markets at nearby towns most days historical visits like Vezelay, the lovely Dijon old town and markets and then there's even a winery or two."
